Training Philosophy:

There are many different philosophies for the public to choose from. It can be very confusing at times trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t work. This is where a good personal trainer can help.  With the education I have received and the experiences I have had in my life, I am able weed out the things that I do not believe work. My philosophy is to take pieces from all the training and experiences that I agree with and combine them into a program that is designed to work. I do not believe in training everyone the same way; everyone is different be it age, gender, size, or goals. I really enjoy Functional Training, although my interpretation of that is what will help my client to function better in all phases of his/her lifestyle.

What does fitness really mean?

In my opinion Fitness is about more than just looking good. Yes, there are benefits to looking better; you have more confidence, you feel better and have more energy, and yes you will feel like you fit in better no matter what social circle you are in. Wouldn’t you like more than just to look good? If you improve on other aspects of your fitness you have no choice but to look better. Along with looking and feeling better the HEALTH benefits are what is really important. By making fitness a priority, you will reap many health benefits which include; helping fight off hypertension, diabetes, and depression, just to name a few. Another added benefit is stress relief.  If you’ve had a hard stressful day, hitting the gym, park, a friends backyard, or wherever you choose to work out may be just what you need for relief or distraction of the days events.  Those aspects include more than just lifting weights and losing weight.  Below are 10 aspects which I feel are very important to total fitness.

Cardiovascular/Respiratory endurance - ability to gather, process and deliver oxygen in your body.
Stamina - the ability to process and utilize energy through the different systems in the body.
Strength - ability of muscular unit or combination of units to apply force.
Power -  ability of muscular unit or units to apply force in minimum time.
Speed - shortest amount of time for a repeated cycle of movement.
Agility - being able to minimize the transition time from one movement to another.
Balance - controlling center of gravity in relation to support base.
Coordination - combining several movements or patterns in to one movement.
Flexibility - maximizing the range of any given joint.
Accuracy - being able to control movements in any directions or intensity.

Improving yourself in these 10 aspects of fitness you would have no choice but to lose unwanted fat, gain muscle and strength, be more energized and alert, along with looking and feeling better.
